Similarities

The similarities of the Summer of the Monkeys movie and the Summer of the Monkeys book were hard because they each were so different.  One of the similarities of both of them, was the storm, it was as fierce as it was in the book.  Grandpa was somewhat like he was in the book.  The monkeys were caught the same way, and apples were used for bait.  Grandpa and Jay Berry went to the library together, but Grandpa didn’t go into the library.  Mostly everybody had the same names as they did in the book.  The whiskey still was a part in the movie as it was in the book.  They put the monkeys in the corn crib after the storm.

Differences

There weren’t a lot of similarities in the Summer of the Monkeys movie and the Summer of the Monkeys book.  They added names to all the monkeys instead of just one monkey.  There were only four monkeys instead of twenty-nine monkeys.  They added Bayliss Hatcher who had nothing to do with in the book.  Patricia was not in the movie, which was really sad.  It was a French circus in the movie, and we didn’t know what kind of circus it was in the book.  Jay Berry didn’t get drunk and he didn’t lose his britches after he had gotten drunk.  Daisy didn’t have her crutch with her at all.  Also, she had a stuffed animal named Mr. Patch that wasn’t in the book.  Jay Berry only received $85 for the monkeys, not $156.  Another thing was that the pony’s name wasn’t Dolly and she wasn’t crippled.  Papa’s name was John in the movie, and Bob in the book.  Grandma wasn’t a part in the movie.  They didn’t show Daisy coming home on the train from the operation.

Suggestions

There are a few suggestions that I would like to make.  One suggestion is that there should be more monkeys in the movie.  In the book there were twenty-nine monkeys, not four.   Another suggestion is that you should consider putting Philip in the book.  You should take out Toby and Jobert from the movie.  You shouldn’t add Bayliss Hatcher to the movie, it was fine just the way it was.  In my opinion, you should add Grandma in the movie.  You should make it the same amount of money for the monkeys as you did in the book.  I feel like Jay Berry should have gotten drunk and lost his britches.  The last thing you should add is that you should put Patricia from the general store in the movie.
